CONQUEST

Cinemavixion Review

Lucio Fulci's 'Conquest' (1983) plunges viewers into a visceral realm of sword and sorcery, loosely weaving a narrative around a mythical quest. The film centers on a young man, armed with a potent magical bow, who embarks on a perilous journey to cleanse a land corrupted by evil. His path intersects with an outlaw, forming an unlikely alliance against a malevolent witch intent on seizing the bow's power. Fulci, known for his distinct visual style, imbues the film with a raw, often brutal energy, complemented by the performances of Jorge Rivero and Andrea Occhipinti. While the plot may draw inspiration from ancient myths, it's the evocative atmosphere and Fulci's signature approach to fantasy spectacle that leave a lasting impression, offering a unique, albeit unconventional, cinematic adventure.
