CONJURING THE GENIE

Cinemavixion Review

Scott Chambers' 'Conjuring the Genie' plunges into the familiar territory of wish fulfillment gone awry, offering a supernatural thriller that leans heavily into its horror elements. The narrative follows Morgan and her friends as they unwittingly unleash a malevolent genie from an ancient amulet, a decision that spirals into a nightmarish chain of events. While the premise treads a well-worn path, the film attempts to imbue the story with a sense of dread and consequence. The visual presentation and pacing, characteristic of independent horror productions, aim to build suspense as the characters grapple with the dark ramifications of their granted desires. It's a cautionary tale that explores the dangerous allure of getting exactly what one wishes for, especially when such power is wielded by forces beyond human comprehension.
