COMPTON ABBEY

Cinemavixion Review

This independent film offers a quirky premise, placing two fugitive characters in the unlikely setting of an English estate, albeit one transplanted to the urban sprawl of South Central Los Angeles. The narrative hinges on their attempt to blend in as butler and valet while evading a menacing drug lord. While the concept promises a blend of fish-out-of-water comedy and crime thriller elements, the execution, guided by director Chris Desmond, relies heavily on the chemistry between leads David Tate and Kevin Gardner. Anne Letscher provides a grounding presence amidst the escalating absurdity. The film's charm lies in its unconventional setting and the comedic potential of its central deception, making it a watch for those seeking offbeat storytelling.
