COMMUNITY

Cinemavixion Review

Encountering the bleak realities of the Draymen Estate, "Community" plunges viewers into a chilling narrative that transcends typical urban decay tropes. The film masterfully crafts an atmosphere of pervasive dread, where missing persons and whispered tales of violence are just the surface of a deeply disturbed environment. Directors Jason Ford and the credited cast, including Jemma Dallender and Elliott Jordan, deliver a harrowing account of two student filmmakers whose earnest documentary project devolves into a terrifying ordeal. As they delve deeper into the estate's secrets, the line between filmmaking and survival blurs, presenting a stark commentary on societal neglect and the unimaginable horrors that can fester within forgotten corners. This British horror offering, while perhaps understated in its reception, offers a potent and unsettling exploration of community gone awry.
