COLLAR

Cinemavixion Review

A gritty dive into the moral complexities of law enforcement, "Collar" (2015) presents a compelling narrative of a detective whose life unravels following a botched operation. The film masterfully explores the precarious balance between professional duty, personal relationships, and the corrupting influence of political ambition. Tom Sizemore delivers a robust performance as the conflicted police chief Hamilton Markham, anchoring the story with his seasoned presence. Director David Wilson (also credited as writer) crafts a taut thriller that, while perhaps owing a debt to classic noir, carves out its own space. The plot, detailing a protagonist caught between his past mistakes and a future threatened by those in power, offers a stark look at loyalty and betrayal. "Collar" is a solid entry in the crime drama genre, offering a thought-provoking examination of integrity under duress.
