CLOUDY MOUNTAIN

Cinemavixion Review

"Cloudy Mountain" (2021) emerges as a compelling blend of disaster spectacle and familial drama, helmed by director Li Jun. The film centers on a father and son's harrowing efforts to protect a town and its crucial infrastructure from a barrage of natural calamities. Bolstered by a cast including Yi Long Zhu and Zhi Zhong Huang, the narrative weaves together high-stakes action with poignant emotional beats. While the film's reception, as indicated by its IMDb rating of 5.3/10, suggests a mixed audience response, its ambition in delivering both thrilling disaster sequences and a touching father-son dynamic makes it a noteworthy cinematic endeavor. The production, hailing from China, offers a grand scale that aims to resonate with viewers seeking both excitement and heartfelt storytelling.
