CLOSER TO GOD: JESSICA'S JOURNEY

Cinemavixion Review

Jenn Page's 2012 drama, "Closer to God: Jessica's Journey," offers a poignant exploration of faith, family, and the profound challenges of loss. The film centers on a mother's harrowing experience as she navigates her daughter's terminal illness, the unexpected return of her estranged father, and a crisis of faith that tests the very foundations of her beliefs. Anchored by strong performances from Jacqueline Hickel, Savannah Rae Linz, and Bill Suplee, the narrative delves into the emotional complexities of grief and resilience. While specific critical reception and award recognition are not widely documented, the film's sensitive portrayal of a mother's struggle and her spiritual journey makes it a compelling watch for those who appreciate character-driven dramas that tackle profound human experiences.
