CLOSER TO GOD: JESSICA'S JOURNEY

Cinemavixion Review

Jenn Page's 2012 drama, "Closer to God: Jessica's Journey," offers a poignant exploration of faith tested by profound personal tragedy. The film centers on a mother grappling with the imminent loss of her daughter to cancer, a devastating ordeal compounded by the unexpected return of her estranged father. As her world crumbles, her spiritual convictions are pushed to their absolute limit, creating a narrative rich with emotional depth and existential questions. Starring Jacqueline Hickel, Savannah Rae Linz, and Bill Suplee, the film, despite its modest production and limited IMDb rating of 6.0, delves into universal themes of love, loss, and the search for meaning in the face of overwhelming adversity. It's a testament to the power of resilience and the enduring human spirit, even when confronted with life's most challenging circumstances.
