CLASH

Cinemavixion Review

Pepe Diokno's 'Clash' (or 'Engkwentro') plunges viewers into a bleak, unnamed metropolis suffocating under the heel of an authoritarian mayor. The narrative centers on two teenage brothers desperately seeking an escape from the pervasive cycle of crime and violence that defines their existence. Their journey is fraught with peril, as they must evade not only rival gang leaders but also the state's ruthless vigilantes. The film presents a stark portrayal of youth caught in a system designed to crush dissent and perpetuate conflict, forcing a confrontation with the very forces that threaten to consume them.
