CHRONICLES OF PERSECUTION: KING JAMES I'S DARK MISSION

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary plunges into the chilling atmosphere of late 16th-century Europe, a period consumed by a fervent and deadly witch hunt. It starkly illustrates the widespread terror, with tens of thousands perishing in France and Germany alone. The narrative then pivots to England and Scotland, highlighting King James I's pivotal role in initiating his own zealous campaign against witchcraft. The film posits a compelling, albeit grim, connection between these European persecutions and the later Salem witch trials in America, suggesting a historical chain reaction of fear and injustice. It serves as a somber reminder of how mass hysteria and political will can ignite devastating waves of persecution, leaving an indelible mark on history.
