CHLOE AND THEO

Cinemavixion Review

From the vast, icy expanses of the Arctic emerges an unlikely pair destined to confront the existential threat of global warming. 'Chloe and Theo' presents a poignant narrative centered on Theo, an Inuit elder who journeys to the bustling metropolis of New York City to amplify his urgent message to a world dangerously indifferent to the planet's plight. His path intersects with Chloe, a spirited, if somewhat eccentric, young woman whose vibrant outlook on life offers a stark contrast to the global crisis they face. Directed by Ezna Sands, the film, while receiving a lukewarm critical reception according to Rotten Tomatoes (6%), offers a unique perspective on environmental activism through the lens of an intergenerational and cross-cultural friendship. Dakota Johnson stars alongside Theo Ikummaq, delivering performances that, despite the film's challenges, underscore the urgent need for connection and collective action in the face of overwhelming adversity.
