CHILLERS

Cinemavixion Review

Daniel Boyd's "Chillers" from 1987 presents a chilling anthology, weaving together five disparate horror tales shared by stranded passengers at a bus depot. The film's premise, a collective storytelling session to pass the time, effectively builds suspense, each narrative offering a unique flavor of terror. From supernatural swimmers and camping trip horrors to vampiric infatuations and resurrection gone awry, the anthology ventures into diverse subgenres of horror. The final segment, featuring a creature from Mexican folklore, adds an intriguing cultural dimension. While the IMDb rating suggests a mixed reception, the film's ambition in delivering a variety of scares within its framework makes it a noteworthy entry for fans of 80s horror anthologies, showcasing a blend of classic horror tropes and inventive storytelling.
