CHILLER

Cinemavixion Review

Wes Craven's 1985 television film 'Chiller' offers a compelling, albeit unsettling, exploration of mortality and the consequences of defying it. The narrative centers on Miles Creighton, a man brought back from the dead after a decade-long cryogenic stasis, only to find himself fundamentally changed—his soul seemingly lost in the void between life and death. Michael Beck delivers a performance that effectively conveys Creighton's disquieting detachment and growing horror as he grapples with his hollow existence. Beatrice Straight and Laura Johnson provide strong support as the women caught in his chilling wake. While perhaps not as widely celebrated as Craven's slasher masterpieces, 'Chiller' stands as a testament to his versatility, weaving a suspenseful and thought-provoking sci-fi horror tale that lingers long after the credits roll.
