Cinemavixion Review

In "Chicago Overcoat," director Brian Caunter delivers a gritty crime drama that harks back to classic mob tales. Frank Vincent stars as Lou Marazano, a legendary hitman now living in obscurity. The plot, described in both local and external sources, sees Lou pulled back into the violent world he left behind when the local syndicate requires his particular set of skills to silence key witnesses. This resurgence, however, ignites a dangerous chain of events, drawing the attention of law enforcement and forcing Lou to confront the ghosts of his past. The film, released in 2009 and featuring Kathrine Narducci and Mike Starr, explores themes of loyalty, betrayal, and the inescapable nature of one's history. While perhaps not reaching the heights of the genre's titans, "Chicago Overcoat" offers a compelling narrative for fans of organized crime thrillers, with Vincent anchoring the film with a performance that speaks to the weight of a life lived in the shadows.
