CHARLIE CHAN - THE TRAP

Cinemavixion Review

This early entry in the Charlie Chan canon, "The Trap," plunges viewers into the sun-drenched yet sinister world of Malibu Beach. The premise alone is compelling: a vibrant troupe of showgirls, their impresario, and press agent find their seaside getaway brutally interrupted by murder. The narrative wisely places the astute Charlie Chan at the center of the investigation, ably supported by his ever-present son Jimmy and the loyal Birmingham Brown. The film promises a classic whodunit, weaving together the glamour of show business with the stark reality of crime. It's a testament to the enduring appeal of the Chan mysteries, offering a glimpse into a bygone era where deductive reasoning and keen observation unravel the most tangled of plots.
