CHAMPAGNE ROSE IS DEAD

Cinemavixion Review

Calvin Floyd's "Champagne Rose Is Dead" plunges viewers into a world of high-stakes espionage and existential ennui. The film follows Jason, a suave international agent whose life of danger and luxury is juxtaposed with a profound boredom. Francis Matthews embodies this complex character, navigating a landscape of shadowy intrigue and fleeting affections, always shadowed by his silent, imposing bodyguard, Shadow, portrayed with chilling presence by Ton Lutz. Victor Four provides further depth to the ensemble. Floyd masterfully crafts a narrative where the glamour of the spy game is merely a gilded cage, hinting at the futility of retirement when one's destiny is dictated by unseen forces. The film explores themes of freedom, control, and the search for meaning in a life defined by violence and deception.
