CENTRE PLACE

Cinemavixion Review

Ben Shackleford's 'Centre Place' offers a charming exploration of second chances and self-discovery, set against the vibrant backdrop of Melbourne's fashionable boutiques and laneways. Julia Markovski delivers a nuanced performance as Lizzie, a woman whose life is upended by personal setbacks, forcing her to re-evaluate her dreams and future. The narrative cleverly weaves romance with dramedy, particularly as an old flame, portrayed by Sullivan Stapleton, re-enters her life. While the plot touches on familiar tropes of romantic dramas, the film distinguishes itself with its authentic portrayal of urban life and the universal quest for personal fulfillment. The chemistry between Markovski and Stapleton is palpable, grounding the film's emotional core. 'Centre Place' is a delightful watch, celebrating resilience and the unexpected turns that lead to finding one's true path.
