CASSIDY RED

Cinemavixion Review

Matt Knudsen's "Cassidy Red" plunges viewers into a gritty, revenge-fueled narrative set against the stark beauty of the 19th-century American Southwest. The film masterfully navigates the treacherous terrain of love, hate, and vengeance as its protagonist, portrayed with fierce determination by Abby Eiland, returns to her hometown seeking retribution for a slain lover. Knudsen, who also penned the screenplay, crafts a compelling story where the protagonist's quest for satisfaction spirals beyond her control, exploring the devastating consequences of unchecked rage. Supported by strong performances from David Thomas Jenkins and Jason Grasl, "Cassidy Red" is a potent exploration of the destructive nature of vengeance, offering a Western with a deeply personal and emotionally resonant core.
