CASCADE

Cinemavixion Review

Egidio Coccimiglio's "CASCADE" plunges viewers into a harrowing wilderness thriller that transcends the typical drug-smuggling narrative. The film centers on a teenage girl whose serene hiking trip with friends devolves into a desperate fight for survival when they unearth a crashed drug plane. What follows is a tense cat-and-mouse game, as the protagonist must employ her wits to evade a ruthless criminal element. While the premise might suggest a straightforward action flick, "CASCADE" delves deeper, exploring themes of resilience and the unexpected adversities one can face in isolated environments. Sara Waisglass, Joel Oulette, and Sadie Laflamme-Snow deliver compelling performances that anchor the film's escalating suspense. Though it garnered some nominations, "CASCADE" offers a potent, character-driven exploration of survival that is worth seeking out for fans of suspenseful cinema.
