CARNIVOROUS

Cinemavixion Review

Drew Maxwell's 2008 thriller 'Carnivorous' plunges viewers into a disorienting and claustrophobic nightmare. The film centers on Kate Walker, who awakens to find herself trapped in an enigmatic, maze-like structure with a group of fellow captives. As the psychological toll of their confinement mounts, the survivors must navigate not only the treacherous architecture of their prison but also their own deteriorating mental states in a desperate bid for freedom. While the premise promises a tense exploration of survival and human nature under duress, the film's execution relies heavily on atmosphere and the unraveling psyches of its characters. Leah Rose, Ryan Schaufler, and Tom Lodewyck deliver performances that convey the growing desperation and paranoia inherent in their predicament. 'Carnivorous' offers a stark look at the fight for survival when stripped of all external comforts and certainties.
