CARDINAL MATTER

Cinemavixion Review

Madeline Puzzo's "Cardinal Matter" plunges into the heart of rural Wyoming, offering a gritty thriller that juxtaposes the tranquility of country life with the cold efficiency of corporate malfeasance. The film follows Austin Blum (Zac Titus), who arrives seeking a fresh start and a reunion with his cousin Hunter. However, he quickly becomes entangled in a dangerous web of Hunter's illicit dealings, finding himself on the run from both the law and a relentless hitman tasked with a cover-up. The narrative cleverly pits the rugged, isolated setting against the intrusion of high-technology, creating a palpable sense of unease. Titus delivers a compelling performance as an everyman caught in extraordinary circumstances, striving to clear his name and uncover the truth. While the film may not boast extensive accolades, its strength lies in its atmospheric tension and a plot that keeps viewers guessing. "Cardinal Matter" is a solid entry for those who appreciate a well-paced crime thriller with a unique blend of the pastoral and the technologically sinister.
