CAN'T BE STOPPED

Cinemavixion Review

"Can't Be Stopped" offers a compelling deep dive into the vibrant and often misunderstood world of graffiti art, focusing on the influential Hollywood-based crew of the same name. Emerging in the early 1980s, the initials C.B.S. have become synonymous with the evolution of graffiti from a stigmatized subculture into a recognized art form. Director Cody Smith, alongside a cast including 2Mex, Marc 7, and Alchemist, crafts a narrative that emphasizes the profound sense of brotherhood and surrogate family fostered by the crew's father figure, "Skate." This mentorship instills a powerful code of morality, respect, and integrity, guiding young artists, many from challenging backgrounds, towards success and prosperity. The film masterfully illustrates how these pioneers not only shaped the medium but also transcended its associated stigmas, leaving an indelible mark on contemporary art. It's a testament to the power of artistic expression and the enduring bonds of community.
