CANNIBAL TROLL

Cinemavixion Review

Scott Chambers' "Cannibal Troll" plunges viewers into a primal horror scenario, where a celebratory hen weekend takes a terrifying turn. The film masterfully crafts an atmosphere of escalating dread as a group of friends finds their rural escape shattered by the relentless pursuit of a grotesque, insatiable troll. Chambers, co-directed here by Becca Hirani, skillfully utilizes the isolated countryside setting to amplify the characters' vulnerability. The performances from Georgina Jane, Nicole Nabi, and Megan Purvis ground the fantastical threat in relatable fear, making their struggle for survival all the more compelling. While the premise leans into creature-feature territory, the narrative offers a surprisingly effective exploration of primal fears and the breakdown of civilized order when faced with monstrous adversity. It's a grimly satisfying entry for fans of independent horror, delivering suspense and visceral thrills.
