CANADA’S INVOLVEMENT IN THE KOREAN WAR

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary offers a poignant and often harrowing look into Canada's often-overlooked role in the Korean War. Narrated and guided by war historian Norm Christie, the film delves into the experiences of the 25th Canadian Infantry Brigade, chronicling their involvement from the intense battles of May 1951 to the pivotal defense of Hill 355 in November. Christie, alongside Canadian veterans, revisits significant locations, bringing to life the brutal realities faced by soldiers and the lasting impact on the Korean landscape and its people. The narrative skillfully weaves together historical accounts with personal testimonies, creating a deeply human portrait of conflict. It's a vital piece of historical filmmaking that sheds light on the courage, sacrifice, and enduring consequences of this significant, yet under-examined, chapter in Canadian history, encouraging viewers to confront the profound reverberations of war.
