CAN A SMALL TOWN SPARK A NATIONAL ECONOMIC REVOLUTION?

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary offers a poignant look at the economic challenges faced by working-class Americans in conservative states, where the stagnant federal minimum wage of $7.25 an hour has created immense hardship. Through the lens of Whiteville, North Carolina, the film chronicles the daily struggles of residents juggling multiple jobs to make ends meet. A significant aspect of the narrative is the unexpected alliance formed between these communities and the "Patriotic Millionaires," a collective of affluent individuals who contend that the current economic system is fundamentally unfair. The documentary effectively tracks their collaborative efforts to bridge political divides, uniting working-class conservatives and liberals around common economic interests. It powerfully illustrates how ordinary citizens can find their voice to advocate for a living wage and how a grassroots movement, born in overlooked towns, can champion a more equitable future, underscoring the profound impact of collective action.
