CALLOUSED HANDS

Cinemavixion Review

“Calloused Hands” delves into the challenging adolescence of Josh, a gifted young baseball player navigating a tumultuous home life. The film unflinchingly portrays his struggles with abuse and neglect, creating a raw and emotional narrative. The discovery of his estranged grandfather and the unexpected path towards his Bar Mitzvah introduce a compelling layer of cultural and personal identity exploration. While the director is not credited in the local data, the external data identifies Jesse Quinones, who also penned the script. The performances, particularly from the young lead, are central to the film's impact. “Calloused Hands” is a poignant examination of resilience and the search for belonging amidst adversity, offering a powerful, albeit difficult, viewing experience.
