CALLING FOR LOVE

Cinemavixion Review

Kristin Fairweather's 2020 romantic comedy, "Calling for Love," offers a familiar yet charming premise centered on Samantha Sanders (Karissa Lee Staples), a successful podcast host specializing in reuniting lost loves. While Sam excels at playing cupid for others, she finds herself romantically adrift. The narrative gains momentum when Jake (Tajh Bellow), a captivating caller with a quest to find a missed connection from his past, enters her life. Their chemistry is palpable, sparking hope that Sam might finally apply her own expert advice to her personal life. The film, featuring Carolyn Hennesy and Marisa Brown, navigates the delicate balance between professional expertise and personal vulnerability, posing the question of whether the matchmaker can find her own perfect match. While the external data suggests a 5.0 rating on IMDb, the film's strength lies in its heartfelt exploration of second chances and the universal search for love.
