CABIN FEVER

Cinemavixion Review

While the premise of a remote cabin and a terrifying contagion promises a visceral horror experience, this iteration of 'Cabin Fever' struggles to distinguish itself. The narrative follows a group of college graduates as a flesh-eating virus begins to decimate their ranks, exposing their hidden fears and fracturing their relationships. The film attempts to explore the primal instincts that surface under extreme duress, setting the stage for a descent into paranoia and violence. However, the execution feels derivative, lacking the raw, unsettling intensity that made the original a cult classic. The true horror lies not just in the physical decay, but in the psychological breakdown of the characters as they turn on each other, a theme that, while present, doesn't quite land with the intended impact in this particular telling.
