BUCK AT THE EDGE OF HEAVEN

Cinemavixion Review

This 1991 film, directed by Tonino Ricci, follows the dramatic tale of Trapper Wintrop and his family after a tragic encounter with a ruthless gang. Living a secluded life in the mountains with his father, son Tim, loyal wolf dog Buck, and the scout Matt, Wintrop's world is shattered when villains attack their home, resulting in the death of his grandfather. Driven by vengeance, Wintrop and his kin set out to track down the perpetrators. Their path soon crosses with Corinne, whom they rescue from the same gang, but not before her father also succumbs to their violence. Wintrop offers Corinne refuge, weaving her into the fabric of their already complicated lives. The film appears to explore themes of loss, justice, and the formation of unconventional families in the face of adversity, anchored by a cast including John Savage and David A. Hess.
