BRUT FORCE

Cinemavixion Review

Eve Symington's "Brut Force" plunges into the sun-drenched yet shadowed world of wine country, offering a compelling narrative that belies its idyllic setting. The film follows reporter Sloane Sawyer as she returns to her roots, only to uncover a disturbing undercurrent of worker exploitation and systemic corruption. Patricia Velasquez delivers a nuanced performance as Sawyer, navigating the complexities of her hometown with a blend of journalistic tenacity and personal unease. Symington masterfully contrasts the picturesque vineyards with the harsh realities faced by those who labor within them, creating a palpable tension that drives the plot. While the film may not boast widespread accolades, its grounded exploration of social injustice and the often-hidden costs of luxury makes it a worthy watch for those seeking a thought-provoking thriller with a conscience.
