BROADWAY LIMITED

Cinemavixion Review

Gordon Douglas's "Broadway Limited" offers a charming glimpse into 1940s Hollywood sensibilities, centered around a publicity stunt gone awry. The narrative unfolds aboard the eponymous train, where an unknown baby, intended for promotion, becomes the catalyst for a series of comedic misunderstandings and budding romance. Victor McLaglen anchors the film with a solid performance, supported by the delightful chemistry between Marjorie Woodworth and Dennis O'Keefe. While the plot may tread familiar ground, its execution is buoyed by sharp dialogue and a brisk pace, characteristic of the era's studio system output. The film successfully blends lighthearted romance with a touch of suspense, making it an enjoyable watch for those seeking classic screwball comedy with a heart.
