BREAKTHROUGH (PREBOJ)

Cinemavixion Review

"Breakthrough (Preboj)" plunges viewers into the unforgiving Slovenian winter of World War II, chronicling the harrowing true story of Franc Sever Franta. As a young partisan commander, he is thrust into a desperate mission: to extricate 500 freedom fighters from a seemingly inescapable encirclement by a formidable Nazi division. The film masterfully depicts the brutal realities of guerrilla warfare against overwhelming odds, emphasizing the resilience and sacrifice of the resistance. The harsh, unforgiving mountain landscape becomes a character in itself, amplifying the tension and the sheer desperation of the situation. The narrative highlights the courage required to lead and the profound moral choices faced when lives hang precariously in the balance. This is a compelling portrayal of defiance and survival against a backdrop of immense historical conflict.
