BOYNE FALLS

Cinemavixion Review

Steve Kopera's "Boyne Falls" plunges viewers into a tense, backwoods thriller that hinges on the strained dynamic between its protagonists. The film, released in 2018, follows two co-workers whose corporate bonding retreat takes a dire turn when they stumble upon an isolated meth lab deep in the woods. What begins as a weekend of forced camaraderie quickly escalates into a desperate fight for survival. The narrative smartly uses the isolation of the wilderness to amplify the peril, transforming a seemingly innocuous setting into a trap. The core of the film lies in the forced reliance between the two bickering colleagues, who must overcome their animosity to escape the deadly situation. Kopera, who also stars in the film alongside Juan Monsalves, Axel Harney, and Jeneta St. Clair, crafts a suspenseful atmosphere, exploring themes of trust and desperation against a backdrop of rural menace. While specific critical reception and box office data are not widely publicized, "Boyne Falls" offers a compelling survival narrative for those drawn to tense, character-driven thrillers set against unforgiving landscapes.
