BOY GENIUS

Cinemavixion Review

Bridget Stokes directs 'Boy Genius,' a charming comedy that hinges on the precocious intellect of its twelve-year-old protagonist, Emmett. When Emmett's brother, Luke, is wrongly accused of thefts at Heart High, the young prodigy must step in. Teaming up with his SAT tutor, the sixty-something crime novelist Mary, Emmett navigates the complexities of high school and the shadows of Mary's past. The film, featuring a notable cast including Bebe Wood, Rita Wilson, and Zach Gilford, blends youthful ingenuity with a touch of mystery. While the external data suggests a 2019 release and mentions awards, the core narrative remains consistent: a clever young mind unraveling a mystery to protect his family. 'Boy Genius' offers a delightful premise, promising a blend of humor and suspense as Emmett races against time to clear his brother's name.
