BOWHEAD WHALES: THE SECRET TO LIVING 200 YEARS

Cinemavixion Review

Beneath the vast, icy expanse of the Arctic, a creature of myth and legend navigates the frigid waters: the bowhead whale. For generations, the Inupiat people have spoken of these marine mammals living twice the span of a human life, a notion once relegated to the realm of folklore. This compelling documentary embarks on a journey with scientists and the Inupiat to validate these extraordinary claims. Through the tracking of the bowhead whale's majestic migration and an intimate look at a traditional hunt that has sustained the Inupiat culture for millennia, the film reveals startling truths. The discovery of a harpoon dating back a century and the implementation of a groundbreaking scientific technique to determine a whale's age by examining its eye underscore the remarkable longevity of this species. "BOWHEAD WHALES: The Secret To Living 200 Years" offers a profound glimpse into a species that has defied the passage of time and a human culture intricately bound to its survival.
