Nathan Gabaeff's 2017 action thriller, "Boost," plunges viewers into the high-octane world of Jimmy, a gifted car thief whose life takes a perilous turn. The film, starring Danny Trejo, Danay Garcia, and Trent Garrett, excels in its depiction of desperate chases and the moral quandaries faced by its protagonist. When a routine "boost" uncovers a mysterious package, Jimmy is catapulted into a dangerous underworld, compelled to protect an innocent girl against formidable odds. While the narrative treads familiar ground in the crime genre, the film's pacing and Gabaeff's direction keep the tension high.
