"Blue Steel" from 1934, starring a young John Wayne, offers a glimpse into the early days of the Western genre and Wayne's burgeoning career. Directed by Robert N. Wayne embodies John Carruthers, a US Marshal operating undercover, navigating a landscape where trust is scarce and suspicion is rife. The narrative cleverly weaves a plot of robbery and investigation, further complicated by the local sheriff's distrust of Carruthers.
