BILLIONAIRE'S PARADISE: INSIDE NECKER ISLAND

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary offers an intimate and often fascinating glimpse into the opulent world of Necker Island, Sir Richard Branson's exclusive Caribbean retreat. Through a compelling 'upstairs-downstairs' narrative, it juxtaposes the lavish experiences of the elite guests, who pay exorbitant sums for paradise, with the demanding realities faced by the nearly 100 staff members who cater to their every whim. Directed by Kari Lia, the film skillfully captures the unique ecosystem of this commercial venture, where business deals are struck amidst leisure and the "selling of the Caribbean dream" is a daily pressure. It's a revealing look at the intersection of extreme wealth, service industry pressures, and the allure of an island idyll, making for an engaging watch that prompts reflection on exclusivity and labor in the modern age.
