BIG TOP EVIL

Cinemavixion Review

Sean Haitz's "Big Top Evil" plunges viewers into a grimly atmospheric horror narrative that leverages familiar tropes with a distinctively unsettling premise. The film follows a group of five youths whose road trip takes a horrific turn when they stumble upon the hunting grounds of a cannibalistic clown troupe, eerily linked to the legend of the "Mangrove Slasher." Haitz, who also stars in the film alongside genre veteran Bill Moseley and Austin Judd, crafts a tale that effectively builds suspense and dread. While the film may not reinvent the slasher subgenre, its commitment to a disturbing vision and the effective portrayal of its menacing antagonists offer a chilling experience for horror aficionados. The tight runtime ensures a brisk pace, making "Big Top Evil" a noteworthy, albeit brutal, addition to the independent horror landscape.
