BIEBER GENERATION

Cinemavixion Review

Jennifer Van Gessel's "Bieber Generation" offers a compelling documentary exploration into the phenomenon of the "Beliebers," the devoted fanbase of pop superstar Justin Bieber. This film delves into the intricate dynamics of such a massive and often misunderstood collective, aiming to bridge the gap between fans and non-fans. By engaging with individuals from across the globe, the documentary seeks to illuminate the experiences of Beliebers, addressing the generalizations they face and highlighting their charitable endeavors alongside the cyberbullying they endure. Van Gessel approaches the subject with an intention to foster understanding from an unbiased standpoint, making the film a valuable watch not only for devoted fans but also for anyone intrigued by the power and influence of modern fan cultures. Despite its focus on a specific fanbase, the documentary transcends its subject matter to comment on broader themes of identity, community, and digital interaction in the 21st century.
