BENEATH US

Cinemavixion Review

Max Pachman's "Beneath Us" plunges viewers into a grim narrative that interrogates the elusive nature of the American Dream. The film centers on a group of undocumented day laborers who accept what they believe to be a lucrative job, only to find themselves ensnared in a terrifying fight for survival orchestrated by their wealthy employers. As the night descends into a chilling ordeal, the film masterfully ratchets up the tension, exploring themes of desperation, exploitation, and the fight for dignity against overwhelming odds. While the film's reception has been mixed, with a Metacritic score of 40/100 and an IMDb rating of 5.4/10, its unflinching portrayal of a desperate struggle for survival makes it a compelling, albeit harrowing, watch. The performances, particularly from Lynn Collins and Rigo Sanchez, anchor the film's dark premise, making "Beneath Us" a thought-provoking thriller that resonates with its unsettling exploration of vulnerability and resilience.
