BENEATH US

Cinemavixion Review

Max Pachman's 'Beneath Us' plunges into the dark underbelly of the American Dream, offering a chilling narrative of exploitation and retribution. The film masterfully crafts a tense atmosphere as a group of undocumented day laborers find their pursuit of a better life twisted into a desperate fight for survival. With strong performances from Lynn Collins and Rigo Sanchez, the film explores themes of class disparity and resilience against overwhelming odds. While critical reception, as indicated by a 22% on Rotten Tomatoes, suggests a divisive viewing experience, its compelling premise and gritty execution make it a noteworthy, albeit harrowing, thriller. The film's unflinching portrayal of desperation and the fight for dignity is its most potent, and perhaps unsettling, achievement.
