BEHAVING BADLY

Cinemavixion Review

Tim Garrick's directorial debut, 'Behaving Badly,' plunges into the chaotic world of teenage romance with an R-rated, albeit critically panned, comedic spirit. The film attempts to capture the earnest, albeit misguided, efforts of an 18-year-old, Rick Stevens, to win over his dream girl, Nina Pennington. The narrative spins a dizzying web of encounters, featuring a mobster's son, a troupe of strippers, a best friend's unusually amorous mother, and a host of other eccentric characters. While the ensemble cast, including Nat Wolff and Selena Gomez, navigates this outlandish plot, the film struggles to coalesce its disparate elements into a cohesive whole. Despite a meager 0% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a Metascore of 18, 'Behaving Badly' offers a glimpse into a particular brand of raunchy, coming-of-age comedy, even if its execution leaves much to be desired.
