BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

Cinemavixion Review

This rendition of 'Beauty and the Beast,' helmed by director David Lister, presents a darker, more grounded take on the classic tale. The narrative centers on Freya, a clan princess entangled in a web of political ambition and a mysterious curse. The story unfolds with a sense of foreboding as Freya ventures into the perilous domain of a formidable Beast to save her father. The performance of Jane March as Freya anchors the film, conveying a mix of vulnerability and strength as she confronts the unknown. While the film may diverge from more familiar interpretations, it offers a compelling exploration of courage and sacrifice against a backdrop of rugged, untamed landscapes. This version invites viewers to discover a different facet of the enduring 'Beauty and the Beast' legend.
