BEAUTIFUL VILLAGER 2

Cinemavixion Review

Mustafa Şevki Doğan's "Beautiful Villager 2" plunges into the emotional landscape of Gul, a young woman seeking solace from the urban clamor of Istanbul. Drowning in a profound depression following a separation from her lover Kaan, Gul retreats to the tranquil, albeit eccentric, embrace of Güzelköy. Her arrival introduces a poignant dynamic as she finds herself living alongside Sultan Ana, a matriarch who mistakes her for a grandchild. The narrative gains momentum as Gul's sisters join her, creating a communal living arrangement under Sultan Ana's roof. However, the past refuses to stay buried, with Kaan's unexpected appearance in the village disrupting Gul's newfound peace. Despite his presence, Gul remains resolute, her affections now firmly rooted in the village with Cemal. The film explores the compelling contrast between an urban upbringing and the unexpected blossoming of a new romance amidst the rustic charm of village life.
