BEAST OF BIRKENSHAW | THE CASE OF PETER MANUEL | SCOTTISH SERIAL KILLER AND PSYCHOPATH OF THE 50S

Cinemavixion Review

This documentary delves into the chilling case of Peter Manuel, a Scottish serial killer whose reign of terror gripped the 1950s. Narrated by Fred Dinenage, the film meticulously examines the horrific crimes attributed to Manuel, who was eventually hanged at the young age of 31. While officially convicted of seven murders, the scope of his depravity is suggested to extend far beyond these confirmed cases, leaving a dark shadow over the era. The production sheds light on the psychological landscape of a psychopath, offering a stark look at the darkness that can reside within the human psyche. It serves as a grim reminder of the societal impact of such monstrous acts and the pursuit of justice, however belated.
