BATTLEDOGS

Cinemavixion Review

In the vein of creature features that blend sci-fi with visceral horror, 'Battledogs' plunges viewers into a terrifyingly plausible scenario. The film posits a near-future where Manhattan becomes a quarantine zone, overrun by a rapidly spreading Lupine virus that transforms its victims into savage wolves. Director Alexander Yellen masterfully crafts an atmosphere of escalating dread, complemented by a cast that navigates the chaos with conviction. While the narrative draws comparisons to genre heavyweights like 'Underworld' and 'District 9,' it carves out its own niche by focusing on the desperate struggle for survival against an unstoppable biological threat. The special effects, particularly in depicting the transformed populace, contribute significantly to the film's unsettling impact. 'Battledogs' is a compelling watch for those seeking a high-octane, suspenseful thriller that explores the darker side of contagion.
