BATSH*T BRIDE

Cinemavixion Review

Jonathan Smith's "Batsh*t Bride" is a sharp, albeit brief, comedic exploration of modern relationships and the often-unspoken doubts that can surface even on the happiest of days. Released in 2020, this independent film, starring Meghan Falcone and Josh Covitt, cleverly uses the premise of an April Fools' Day prank gone awry to reveal a surprising, shared sentiment between the engaged couple: they've lost their spark. The film's strength lies in its concise storytelling and relatable premise. Falcone and Covitt deliver performances that navigate the delicate balance between humor and genuine emotional discovery. While the plot might seem straightforward, the execution is what elevates it, offering a refreshing take on pre-nuptial jitters that many viewers might recognize. Garnering a respectable 5.6/10 on IMDb and an impressive 86% on Rotten Tomatoes, "Batsh*t Bride" has been noted for its witty script and effective performances. Despite its modest production, the film manages to deliver a satisfying narrative arc, making it a noteworthy watch for those who appreciate romantic comedies with a touch of realism and a good dose of laughter.
