BAD KIDS OF CRESTVIEW ACADEMY

Cinemavixion Review

Ben Browder's "Bad Kids of Crestview Academy" plunges viewers into a chaotic Saturday detention that quickly devolves into a fight for survival. The film, based on a graphic novel sequel, expertly blends slasher tropes with dark comedy as five disparate students find themselves locked in their prestigious academy, targeted by a mysterious killer. The plot thickens with themes of revenge and social hierarchy, as the students are forced to confront not only an external threat but also their own internal conflicts. While the critical reception, as indicated by its low Rotten Tomatoes score, suggests a divisive experience, the film offers a unique, if gory, take on the high school horror subgenre. The performances, particularly from the young cast, navigate the film's over-the-top premise with a commitment that makes the escalating absurdity compelling. It's a wild ride that doesn't shy away from visceral thrills and unexpected twists.
