AZZURRINA

Cinemavixion Review

Giacomo Franciosa's "Azzurrina" emerges from the shadows of Italian horror, a film that delves into folklore and the chilling legend of Guendalina. While the external data notes the film's language as Italian, the local description indicates it's available in English, potentially broadening its reach. The narrative, as suggested by the plot summary, centers on Guendalina, a figure ostracized for her albinism, a theme that resonates with historical superstitions and the fear of the 'other'. Starring Tatiana Luter, Paolo Stella, and Gianfranco Terrin, the film appears to leverage its cast to bring this dark tale to life. Despite its 2023 release, "Azzurrina" seems to lean into timeless horror tropes, exploring the enduring power of myth and the terror that can arise from societal prejudice. It promises a viewing experience steeped in atmosphere and the unsettling nature of folklore.
